Was George justified of killing Lennie

I think George was justified of killing Lennie because if he didn't kill him Lennie would have caused more trouble or killed more people.Tho it is wrong to kill some one i think George did the right thing because it would have got him in troubie to for being with him. Also i rather George kill him then curley or carlson because they would have tried to kill him slow so he can suffer. Also if he didnt kill him Lennie would have had to go to jail,that wold have never been good for Lennie because he is mentally retarded so bad thing would have happend to him
